Multiple RF Design
Many mesh products on the market use single 802.11a radio for backhaul and another 802.11b/g for service(clients). But single 802.11a radio backhaul cannot send and receive data at the same time. Every packet relayed to another node has to be sent twice on the same channel. This compounded repetition on the same channel causes degraded throughput and latency at each hop. The mesh runs out of steam after a few hops.
ArrowSpan’s multi-radio full duplex design (Triple RF: MeshAP 5100/3100 and Dual RF: MeshAP 2180/1100) greatly enhances the throughput and hop counts. This unique design eliminates the single radio performance degradation, and provides even bandwidth distribution over more hops in larger areas.
