ArrowSpan Provides Flexible Wi-Fi Service for Estes Valley Networks

 

Switching Wireless Solution Enables Free Internet Access for Hotel Visitors, Dedicated Bandwidth for Downtown Businesses

 

Santa Clara, Calif., Dec 19, 2007 – ArrowSpan Inc., a global provider of switching wireless Wi-Fi mesh solutions, today announced that its MeshAP 3100 solution has enabled Estes Valley Networks to flexibly deploy Wi-Fi service in downtown Estes Park, Colorado.

 

Estes Park is the gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park, one of America’s most popular vacation destinations. During the summer season, 4.5 million visitors pass through the town, many of whom expect their hotel accommodations to include wireless Internet access.

 

“The demand for free Wi-Fi is so high at Estes Park,” said Eric Calkins, president of Estes Valley Networks. “By deploying ArrowSpan’s MeshAP 3100, we were able to quickly roll out a flexible wireless solution that serves these visitors, as well as the local business community.”

 

ArrowSpan’s MeshAP 3100 supports up to 16 SSID/VLAN sets, allowing Estes Valley Networks to assign different SSIDs to different user groups. As a result, the company can simultaneously offer different types of wireless service to different types of users. Visitors for example, have access to free Wi-Fi service supported by local advertisers. Business subscribers, on the other hand, pay for wireless network bandwidth dedicated specifically to them.
