ArrowSpan Enables Wireless Access at Adobe RV Park for Golden Valley Cable and Communications

 

ArrowSpan Mesh Access Point Utilizes 5GHz Band to Ensure Reliable Outdoor Coverage

 

Santa Clara, Calif., Dec 4, 2007 – ArrowSpan Inc., a global provider of switching wireless Wi-Fi mesh solutions, today announced that Golden Valley Cable and Communications Inc. has successfully deployed wireless Internet service at Adobe RV Park in Golden Valley, Arizona, using ArrowSpan’s MeshAP 3100.

 

Already known for amenities such as private restrooms and showers, paved and lighted streets, a recreation room, laundry and 30/50 amp service, Adobe RV Park wanted to add wireless Internet service to continue attracting residents and visitors to its 150 RV spaces. That posed a challenge for local service provider Golden Valley Cable and Communications.

 

“We had to find a carrier-class wireless mesh solution that could provide consistent outdoor coverage and withstand the extreme Arizona heat,” said D.J. Huffman, president of Golden Valley Cable and Communications. “ArrowSpan’s MeshAP 3100 is designed and manufactured so well that it delivers highly reliable coverage even when the temperature climbs to 120 degrees during the summer time.”

 

Developed specifically for outdoor deployments, ArrowSpan’s MeshAP 3100 uses a single 2.4 GHz radio for client connection and dual 5GHz radios for backhaul connection. Utilizing the 5GHz band allows less backhaul interference which support node-to-node distances of up to 304m (1,000ft), making it ideal for communities like Adobe RV Park, which now offers flexible hourly and monthly wireless service plans for park visitors and residents.
