ArrowSpan Introduces Multi-Radio Full-Duplex Switching Wireless 900 MHz Mesh Network Access Point for Hotzones with Heavy Foliage

Santa Clara, Calif., Nov 1, 2007 – ArrowSpan Inc., a global provider of switching wireless Wi-Fi mesh solutions, is introducing the MeshAP 3100 900 MHz, the latest addition to its mesh Wi-Fi portfolio. The MeshAP 3100 900 MHz edition is designed to provide switching wireless Wi-Fi access for outdoor communities, such as camp sites, RV parks, city parks and campuses, where heavy foliage may interfere with wireless coverage.

ArrowSpan’s MeshAP MA3100-A9 is a triple RF switching wireless mesh access point that uses a dedicated 802.11b/g radio for client connection and dual 900 MHz radios for backhaul connection. Utilizing the 900 MHz band, which supports node-to-node distances of up to 1,659m (5,413ft) in open space, makes it an ideal wireless solution for outdoor heavy foliage communities.

The MeshAP 3100 900 MHz edition supports high-bandwidth, low-latency broadband applications, and uses layer 2 switching wireless mesh routing to ensure excellent network performance. ArrowSpan’s multiple radio, full-duplex design for both backhaul and user traffic eliminates adjacent signal interference and prevents network performance degradation. Because the MeshAP 3100 900 MHz edition is designed for outdoor deployments, it is surrounded by a weatherproof enclosure that can withstand wind, rain, and extreme temperatures of -40°F to 131°F (-40°C to 55°C). The MeshAP 3100 900 MHz edition also supports WEP and WPA to provide maximum security for the backhaul connection and to protect the entire mesh network from hackers.
